Map Update Question
I recently took my 2022 A6 TDI in for some pending recalls. I purchased the vehicle new late final year and while the selling dealer did all of the required service for a new-quondam car (replaced tires, fluids, wipers, etc.), they didn't update the navigation system. When it was in the shop recently, I asked about updating the maps and was told information technology would cost ~$800. For some reason, I thought that new vehicles were eligible for five free map updates--non truthful?

Thanks for reaching out and for your questions! Based on your model type and model yr either over the air map updates or map updates via an SD card should be possible. For further information please send me a PM with your VIN and contact info and I can look into the matter further. You are correct the start five map updates are included gratuitous of charge from the production, but information technology does depend on the model and model type.

Hello Vincenzo. I was looking around the map settings on my 2022 SQ5 this past weekend and I discovered the over the air map updates. It recommended iv states/regions updates and it downloaded and installed the updates. Even if I accept Audi Connect subscription, the limit of 5 applies? This is the first time I am hearing of the limit.

Thank you for your question, I appreciate the opportunity to provide this blazon of information. If yous use upwardly your free 5 map updates but keep your Audi Connect subscription, you can still utilize the map updates for your particular region at no boosted cost when they come up available (+/- half-dozen months or so). If you didn't keep your Audi Connect subscription yous would take to download them via SD card or visit your dealer to have them updated for you, but it's a little bit more of a hassle. Let me know if you accept whatsoever other questions.

Is this a correct assumption? My vehicle activation date is December 2022.

I received a fiddling bit of description on this and it will depend a footling fleck on the production date and if your vehicle received the almost up to engagement maps at the time of production. To reply your question though, it is a use them or lose them policy in terms of the map updates. If you lot miss out on whatsoever of the previous updates there's no way to get them back or to continue updating past the menstruum. I'1000 hoping that AoA can modify around this policy in the time to come because it seems a picayune one-time-fashioned to me, and I apologize for you missing out on the previous updates. If you have other questions please let me know.

I tried to do over the air update for "all maps" but it kept giving me an error. Over the air only allowed me to update my "regional" maps.
I logged on MyAudi and clicked the Audi Connect Services logo below the film of my vehicle. From the side by side page, I scrolled and selected the "map update" logo. I then selected "consummate package" and it downloaded a file that ran (using Java) to download all the map files from the Audi website. It took over an hour to download the map files. After the download, I transferred the files to a USB memory stick (you tin can directly download the files to the USB retentivity stick). I plugged the USB memory stick to my SQ5 in the USB slot for Android Car/Carplay. I started the update and selected USB as the source. The organization kept updating even though I turned the engine off to go to the store. When I came dorsum from the store and started my SQ5 the system was already post processing the files and a minute later the update was complete. It took less than 20 minutes for my SQ5 to update all the map files from the USB memory stick.
I was not aware of the five free map updates and missed out on the 3 previous updates (March 2022, Nov 2022 and March 2022). The November 2022 update worked fine without the three previous updates.

I have noticed 1 change from the map update when I went for a bulldoze today. When I apply Waze for Android Auto and start driving for a destination, the virtual cockpit map disappears and it is replaced by a compass. As shortly equally I reach my Waze destination, the virtual cockpit map reappears. I assume this is to ensure the commuter is following the right map. I similar this change.
Likewise, while driving information technology seems the google map overlay scrolls better with the update but I take no fashion to mensurate the scrolling to confirm.

Well, my Audi Connect subscription IS current, but when I get to the map updates on MyAudi, it will not let me to download the 2022-2020 maps. This is what I see:

You lot can purchase upwardly-to-date maps from your Audi partner.
So, how do I become the electric current maps?

I called Audi out on this nearly a year ago when my 2022 A6 stopped receiving updates.
I've fifty-fifty showed them in the manual and online (and what sold me on the motorcar no more than demand to purchase map updates, only keep a subscription) they but said it was a misprint.
I can mayhap see a typo or something as a misprint yet i'1000 sure ad has to be seen by many people in guild to get approved.
Hither is the Erstwhile vs. New Audi Connect Site (Keep in mind this is from a year ago, y'all can prob still find in google cache)
[IMG][/IMG]This is what it said in my Audi Connect Manual.. information technology references on a subscription ground (AKA Audi Connect) but once more Audi said typo

I previously downloaded a map update towards the finish of last year--there was a place on my Audi Connect site where this was available. Now, information technology is no longer there. Is information technology no longer possible to download updated maps from the Audi Connect site?
